Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria México​

Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria México is the international business platform where the retail sector meets the production industry to strengthen and foster commercial relations and business opportunities for the food and beverage sector in Mexico.

In 2015, ANTAD and Alimentaria Exhibitions joined forces with the goal of consolidating Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria México as a leading international food and agri-food trade fair in the American continent.

The trade fair is tailored for the retail sector and the entire food and beverage industry from distribution (importers, distributors, retailers, supermarkets, department stores, specialized shops) to the foodservice sector (restaurants, hotels, industrial canteens, cruise ship suppliers, etc.).

Alimentaria Exhibitons is a Fira de Barcelona company that organizes leading international food and beverage trade fairs in Europe and Latin America: Alimentaria Barcelona, Alimentaria & Horexpo Lisboa, Alimentaria FoodTech (formerly Bta. Barcelona Tecnologías de la Alimentación), Expo ANTAD & Alimentaria México, Fórum Gastronómico Barcelona, Barcelona Wine Week, and HOSTELCO.

Headquartered in Barcelona, Alimentaria Exhibitions has a network of International agents in more than 45 countries to open markets and support the food industry’s growth and international expansion.

Alimentaria Exhibition’s trade fairs bring together the best sectorial offer, attract the main market operators, and showcase the lastest trends and R+D innovations in the food industry. The trade fairs also encourage commercial networking and business meetings with buyers from all over the world.

ANTAD (Asociación Nacional de Tiendas de Autoservicio y Departamentales) is Mexico’s main point of sale network.

Since 1983, ANTAD Associates have promoted the development of retail trade and its suppliers in a socially responsible market economy. The associated chains are present in all the cities offering the consumer the benefit of acquiring their products in the legal trade, which translates into guarantee, security and good price.

Competitiveness and job creation have been the guiding principles of ANTAD associates. In 2016, the associated chains have invested 3,000 million dollars in the renovation and opening of new stores, employing more than 825,699 people.

In the last 10 years, ANTAD members have increased their installed capacity at an average annual rate of 7.9%.

Of the nationwide retail sales, ANTAD associates represent 50.1%. It is currently made up of 104 associated chains, of which 31 are self-service, 13 departmental and 60 specialized, representing 55,148 establishments with more than 28.69 million square meters of sales floor.
